When AI agents share a human inbox, things break fast: delivery issues, blurred accountability, domain reputation problems, and no clean audit trail. AgentInbox, built by Zoho, is a REST API-first email infrastructure platform designed to fix exactly that.
What It Does
Each agent gets its own dedicated mailbox, scoped and revocable access credentials, and a full audit trail. No shared access. The platform handles sending, replying, receiving, attachment management, and conversation threading through a RESTful API. Domain setup includes SPF, DKIM, and MX verification.
Encryption is TLS 1.3 and AES-256. Webhooks are HMAC-signed and fire on new emails, reply threads, and delivery failures, with automatic retries on failed deliveries. Real-time dashboards surface deliverability stats, bounce rates, webhook health, and API performance.
️ Built-In Data Extraction
AgentInbox includes structured data extraction for OTPs, magic links, verification codes, tracking numbers, invoice numbers, coupon codes, and password reset links. If the built-in types don’t cover your use case, LLM-based extraction is available as a fallback on paid plans.
SDKs exist for Python and Node.js. There’s also an MCP server included, so agents built on compatible frameworks can use email natively as a tool without writing custom glue code.
