Anthropic has been chasing enterprise contracts since launch. On May 13, it made its first clear move toward the small business market with a dedicated product tier called Claude for Small Business.
What It Is
Claude for Small Business lives inside Claude Cowork, Anthropic’s task-automation platform that can browse the web, manage files, and run multi-step workflows on a user’s behalf. The new tier adds a toggle within Cowork that activates small business specific integrations and pre-built automations.
The integration list covers the tools most small teams already run: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, HubSpot, Canva, QuickBooks, and PayPal.
What’s Included
- 15 ready-to-run workflows across finance, operations, marketing, HR, and customer service
- 15 pre-built skills that can be deployed without technical setup
- Task coverage includes invoice tracking, meeting summaries, marketing content creation, document organization, and customer communication

The Pitch, in Anthropic’s Own Words
“Claude for Small Business runs inside the tools owners already rely on, like QuickBooks, PayPal, and HubSpot, and takes on the work that piles up after hours, like planning payroll, chasing invoices, or kicking off a marketing project. People run the business, and Claude helps take the late-night work off their plates.” — Daniela Amodei, Co-founder and President, Anthropic
Beyond the Product
Anthropic is pairing the launch with a 10-city US promotional tour, starting in Chicago. Each stop will offer free AI training workshops for up to 100 local small business leaders. The company has also partnered with PayPal on a free online course called AI Fluency for Small Business, aimed at helping owners use AI tools safely.
No pricing details were disclosed in the announcement. The play here is clear: build recurring subscription revenue from smaller businesses while OpenAI and Google continue fighting over enterprise deals.
