Ahrefs uses AI on every article and still avoids slop. Here’s how.

The letters AI and a question mark written in black marker on a whiteboard

Ahrefs says it uses AI on every single article it publishes. Their content team built a Letaido pipeline that can research, outline, draft, and fact-check a piece to near-publish-ready status in six to twelve minutes.

The notable part: they say the pipeline could produce tens of thousands of articles, but they don’t. The blog post by Si Quan Ong is framed around the deliberate choice to keep volume low while still using AI throughout the process.

For solo operators running content programs, the framing is worth paying attention to. The question isn’t whether to use AI in your writing workflow. At this point, that’s settled. The question is where human editorial judgment still earns its keep, and how to structure the pipeline so the output doesn’t read like it was written by a committee of autocomplete engines.
