Telegram version 12.7.0 is out across all supported platforms, and the headline changes are aimed squarely at automation builders and community admins.
Guest Bots
Bots no longer need to be added as chat members to participate. Mention a bot by its @username in any private or group chat and it responds inline. The bot sees only the tagged message, not the full chat history or participant list. Supported tasks include answering questions, generating text or images, and fact-checking.
Bot-to-Bot Communication
Bots can now message other bots directly. Automated workflows can coordinate across multiple bots without requiring a human in the loop. For anyone building multi-step pipelines inside Telegram, this removes a significant workaround.
⏱️ Streaming Text Responses
Bots can stream responses in real time as they are generated rather than waiting for full completion. The message updates continuously during processing, which matters for any LLM-backed bot where response latency is noticeable.
Chat Automation in User Profiles
Users can now connect a bot to their Telegram profile to handle incoming messages automatically. The controls let you define which chats the bot can access, exclude contacts, or limit automation to new chats only. The setting lives at Settings > Chat Automation.
Custom AI Styles in the Text Editor
The built-in text editor now supports custom writing styles defined by user-created prompts. Each style gets a shareable link so other users can preview and apply it. Useful for anyone managing a channel with a consistent editorial voice.
Expanded Sticker and Emoji Search
Sticker and emoji search now covers a user-generated library across 36 languages, with AI-based indexing improving discovery. Search works through the sticker panel, and new stickers can be created via the built-in tools or the @Stickers Mini App.
Poll Updates
Groups and channels now get interactive vote graphs once a poll hits at least 100 votes, visible to admins. Channel admins can also restrict poll participation by subscriber status or user country through poll settings.
Moderation and Scheduling
Two smaller but practical additions: admins can now remove individual reactions or all reactions from a specific user, and scheduled messages can be sent silently without triggering notifications for recipients.
The update also includes over 200 fixes and improvements sourced from user-submitted bug reports. Available now on Telegram 12.7.0 and later.
