Gemini 4 Argon lands in n8n: MCP, agents, and workflows

Workflow diagram, product brief, and user goals are shown

Google just released Gemini 4 Argon, and n8n moved fast. The automation platform is one of the first tools to integrate the new model, with support already live for existing workflows as well as new builds.

What’s Available

n8n’s integration covers three use cases: Model Context Protocol (MCP) workflows, the n8n Assistant, and AI agents. The MCP path lets you use Gemini 4 Argon as the model powering workflows you build from your preferred AI tooling. The Assistant integration works by dropping your API key into the instance settings once, after which the Assistant runs on Gemini 4 Argon. The agent support means you can wire the model into autonomous workflow sequences inside n8n.

Benchmarks

Google published benchmark results alongside the Gemini 4 Argon launch. n8n references them directly, though the specific numbers come from Google’s own reporting rather than independent third-party testing.

The Operator Angle

If you’re already running n8n for automation, switching the underlying model to Gemini 4 Argon is a low-friction move. The integration is live, the setup requires an API key, and the three supported surfaces cover most common operator use cases: tool-connected workflows via MCP, chat-style assistance, and multi-step agents.
