If you run your own mail server, AI email tools have largely been a dead end. Microsoft 365 Copilot and Gmail’s Gemini both require you to hand your mail off to their cloud first. GFI Software just closed that gap for KerioConnect users.
What Shipped
GFI announced that Eloquens AI is now embedded directly into GFI KerioConnect, the self-hosted mail and collaboration server used by more than 30,000 organizations worldwide. The integration was announced by GFI CEO Eric Vaughan at ZEBR.AI Roadshow Praha 2026 in Prague.
Eloquens AI was created by IgniteTech, GFI’s sister company, in 2024. It’s available today for KerioConnect customers running version 10.0.9-10757 or later.
What It Does
Within minutes of a message arriving, the assistant categorizes and acts on it:
- Notifications and newsletters move to a No Reply Needed folder automatically.
- Messages that need a decision stay in the inbox, labeled for quick review.
- Routine questions get a draft reply written in the user’s own voice, sitting in Drafts and ready to send.
- Every automated decision comes with its reasoning, so the user can see why the assistant acted as it did.
The assistant works across KerioConnect webmail, the desktop client, and Microsoft Outlook.
Admin Controls and MSP Angle
Eloquens AI is off by default and requires an administrator to enable it from the KerioConnect admin console. Admins choose which mailboxes get access and can turn it off at any time. Mail stays on the customer’s own server throughout. A 30-day free trial starts with one click, no sales call required.
For managed service providers, GFI is positioning this as a new billable service they can switch on for existing customers from the same console they already manage.
