GoDaddy launches Node.js hosting with full API control for AI tools
GoDaddy just shipped Node.js Hosting, a new product aimed squarely at the gap between building a web app and getting it live. The pitch is simple: upload a zip file or connect a GitHub repo, and GoDaddy handles framework detection, dependency installation, HTTPS, a CDN, and a web application firewall automatically.
What Makes This Different
The headline feature is full API control. Developers and AI coding agents can create apps, upload source code, publish, manage environment secrets, and read build and application logs entirely through the GoDaddy API, without touching a dashboard. Authentication uses a Personal Access Token, so automated tools can deploy without manual sign-in.
Apps run as persistent Node.js processes, which means they support in-memory state, background jobs, and open connections. Each app gets separate preview and publish environments, so you can test changes before they go live.
Pricing and Availability
Anyone can create up to two private preview apps for free with no Web Hosting plan or credit card required. Publishing an app requires a GoDaddy Web Hosting plan. Once on a plan, Node.js Hosting is included with no per-request, per-gigabyte, or per-build-minute charges.
