Google Workspace Studio now works in 7 more languages

Google Workspace Studio, the no-code AI workflow builder powered by Gemini 3, added full support for French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish on May 7, 2026. English was previously the only fully supported language.

The tool lives at studio.workspace.google.com. Users describe in plain language what they want to happen. Gemini 3 generates a complete workflow that can pull data from Gmail, update Sheets, organize Drive files, or trigger actions across connected apps. No coding required.

Who Gets Access

The update covers Business Starter, Standard, and Plus plans, all Enterprise editions, all Education plans, and Google AI Pro for Education. No administrator action required. Rollout started May 7 for both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, with most organizations seeing the change within one to three days.

Why the Language Gap Mattered

Before this update, non-English speakers often had to write prompts in English or accept reduced functionality. According to an analysis from UC Today, broader language support for Gemini features helps close the gap between licenses purchased and value actually delivered. A marketing team in São Paulo, for example, can now describe and refine an entire Gmail-to-Sheets automation workflow entirely in Portuguese, without workarounds.

What Studio Can Do

Beyond basic automation, Studio lets users build, manage, and monitor agents from inside Gmail, Chat, or Drive. Prebuilt steps handle common tasks: summarizing meetings, labeling priority messages, saving attachments, and logging them automatically. Custom connectors reach outside the Google app ecosystem. As of April 2026, teams can also pull private Gems (specialized AI assistants tied to specific Drive files) directly into flows.

Security Controls

New agent controls announced at Google Cloud Next ’26 give administrators visibility into what agents access and do. An AI control center, agent management tools, and Studio-specific settings are in place to reduce risks of data leakage or prompt injection. Generated agents respect existing data access controls and do not train on customer data outside the organization’s domain.

The Broader Rollout Pattern

This expansion follows a consistent cadence. In November 2024, Google added the same seven languages to the Gemini side panel in Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Gmail. February 2025 brought seventeen more languages to that side panel, including Arabic, Chinese, and Vietnamese. April 2026 extended Gemini-powered form creation to additional languages. The May 7 Studio update is the next layer in that sequence.

The seven new languages together represent markets with over one billion potential users, according to the source article. Google documentation for Studio is now available in all newly supported languages through the Workspace Help Center, YouTube playlist, and community forums.
