Meta launches Muse Code, its first AI coding agent
Meta has entered the AI coding agent race. On August 5, 2026, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the beta release of Muse Code, Meta’s first AI coding agent, via a post on X.
What Muse Code Does
According to Zuckerberg’s announcement, Muse Code handles software engineering tasks including writing code and validating results. Meta is positioning it as a direct competitor to coding agents from OpenAI and Anthropic.
