Meta released Muse Spark 1.3 on Thursday, a new AI model focused on extended agentic tasks and software development. META stock gained about 3% on the news.
What Muse Spark 1.3 Does
The model powers Muse Code, a coding agent built to operate inside terminal and continuous integration environments. According to Meta, Muse Code can plan tasks, modify projects, and execute commands. It uses an approvals system and runs inside an operating system sandbox.

Benchmark Results
Muse Spark 1.3 posted higher scores than Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5 and OpenAI’s GPT 5.6 Sol on several coding benchmarks, including DeepSWE v1.1 and Terminal-Bench 2.1. That said, it did not lead across every test. Claude Opus 5 and GPT 5.6 Sol scored better in several agent-focused benchmarks.
The Bigger Picture
Meta’s Muse lineup now covers coding, image generation, voice transcription, and other applications. The competitive benchmark split is the detail worth watching: strong on some coding tasks, trailing on agentic breadth. How quickly these models translate into actual products and revenue is what investors and operators alike will be tracking next.
