German workflow automation startup n8n just had its valuation doubled. SAP invested in the platform, taking n8n from a $2.5 billion valuation after its October 2025 equity raise to $5.2 billion today.
The deal goes beyond a check. SAP agreed to embed n8n’s tools directly into its own software, which means n8n’s automation capabilities could land in front of SAP’s massive enterprise customer base.
The Operator Takeaway
For solopreneurs and small teams already using n8n for workflow automation, this is a signal worth watching. Enterprise validation at this scale usually means faster product development, more integrations, and a longer runway. It also means the platform’s roadmap will increasingly serve enterprise needs alongside its indie and developer user base.
n8n has been a popular self-hostable alternative to tools like Zapier and Make. At a $5.2 billion valuation backed by SAP, it is no longer a scrappy startup bet.
