90% of marketers use AI, but most are still copy pasting

More than 90% of marketers now use AI tools. But adoption and integration are not the same thing. A Q4 2026 report on the state of AI in marketing found that many teams still rely on copying and pasting outputs rather than building AI into their actual workflows.

The bottleneck is not the tools. It is the plumbing. Disconnected systems and poor data quality limit what AI can actually do. When teams use AI to generate more content without fixing the underlying workflow, they create extra review work and risk degrading the customer experience.

What Needs to Change

The report points to two prerequisites for realizing business value from AI in marketing:

  • Better workflow integration: AI needs to sit inside the tools marketers already use, not off to the side.
  • Data governance: Clean, accessible data determines whether AI outputs are useful or just more noise.

Meanwhile: YouTube Passes TV for Political News

In a separate study, YouTube is now the most used individual source for political and election news in the US at 16.5%, edging out TV news at 16.1%. Social platforms collectively lead traditional news sources 60% to 32%.

Trust is shifting too. 61% of Americans trust independent news creators as much as professional journalists on political topics. 67% say the quality of the reporting matters more than formal journalism training. The strongest trust signal for independent creators: publicly correcting mistakes, which 86% say increases their trust.

Meta Creative Analysis With Claude

A LinkedIn post outlines a practical workflow for analyzing Meta ad creative performance. Export daily ad data to a CSV, then upload it to Claude or ChatGPT. Generate three charts:

  • Monthly creative churn
  • Weekly production versus hit rate
  • Spend share from ads under 30 days old

Benchmarks to watch: 20-30% monthly churn and a 10-15% hit rate. If older ads still drive significant spend or hit rates fall while production stays flat, refresh creative before performance declines.

Retention Tactic: Separate Pre and Post Purchase Education

Another LinkedIn post flags a retention mistake: teaching customers everything before they buy. Instead, separate pre-purchase education from post-purchase guidance.

  • Before buying: Explain features that build confidence in the decision.
  • After buying: Share tips that help customers get more value over time.

Teaching customers things they did not know about owning a product encourages long-term engagement.

Other Notes

  • Gemini citations: A free checker runs the same query five times with Google Search grounding on, then counts how often each source appears. It compares recurring claims against your page’s HTML and labels them as stated, touched, or missing.
  • X API showcase: X rebuilt its API Exhibit site to showcase third-party apps and encourage developer integrations. Developers can customize listings and submit Grok Bot templates.
  • Homepage design: Ask visitors only for what they already have, like an email or URL. Move open-ended AI prompts inside the product after sign-up.
