Addi launches AI marketing platform for small businesses

A Kansas City startup called Addi just launched its beta with a pitch that targets the gap most small business owners feel: their financial data sits in one place, their marketing in another, and nobody connects the two.

What Addi Does

The platform combines business intelligence, marketing execution, and performance measurement in one product. The core engine is a proprietary component called the AdByte, which Addi describes as an AI-based single source of truth. It pulls continuously from every available data source, including point-of-sale and payment data, to build an up-to-date picture of the business.

The goal is for the AdByte to know a business as well as its owner does, then use that knowledge to power recommendations the owner can act on.

Financial Triggers Coming Soon

On the near-horizon roadmap, owners will be able to connect Addi to POS and payment providers. The platform will monitor transaction patterns for signals and surface recommendations owners can execute in minutes. As the platform scales, a network intelligence layer will aggregate anonymized insights across all participants and feed them back to every business on the platform.

The Vica Acquisition and Addi Studio

Alongside the beta launch, Addi acquired Vica, an AI creative studio that produces cinematic-quality video ads and places them across streaming and connected TV. Vica’s technology now runs inside Addi as Addi Studio, giving users access to video ad production from day one.

“Video has always been the most powerful format in advertising and the most out of reach for small businesses. The barrier just dropped to almost zero.” — Michael Shields, Founder and CEO of Vica
