Adobe’s Firefly AI Assistant just moved from announcement to public beta. If you use Creative Cloud for client work or content production, here is what changed.
What It Does
Firefly AI Assistant is a single conversational interface that coordinates multi-step actions across Creative Cloud apps including Photoshop, Premiere, Express, Lightroom, and Illustrator. You prompt it once and it orchestrates the workflow across whichever apps the task requires. It maintains context across sessions, so you’re not starting cold each time.
Adobe is also shipping a set of Creative Skills alongside the beta. These are pre-built agentic workflows for common tasks:
- Batch photo editing
- Mood board creation
- Portrait retouching
- Social asset generation
Who Stays in Control
Adobe says users can jump in at any point to edit, tweak, or adjust layouts and assets manually, the same way they would without the agent running. The assistant also claims to learn your preferred tools, workflows, and aesthetic choices over time to deliver more consistent results. There are also context-aware features that can create adjustment tools on the fly based on the specific artwork open.
Access and Pricing
The beta is rolling out globally today for customers on Creative Cloud Pro or paid Firefly plans: Pro, Pro Plus, and Premium. No free tier mentioned for the beta.
