AI coding assistants ship code faster than ever. The problem is that speed is covering up a slow bleed in organizational knowledge that only shows up when something breaks badly.

The bottleneck in software development has shifted. It is no longer writing code. It is knowing what should exist and understanding how systems actually interact. Experienced engineers are cycling out or spending their time reviewing pull requests. Junior developers are building outputs without building mental models.
