Band launches a desktop app to manage fleets of AI coding agents
Managing one AI coding agent is easy. Managing five of them simultaneously, without them stepping on each other’s work, is a different problem entirely. Thenovi AI Ltd., the company behind Band, just shipped a tool aimed squarely at that second problem.
What Band for Developers Does
Band is a desktop application that gives developers a bird’s-eye view of every agent on their team. From a single dashboard, engineers can see active projects, ownership assignments, blockers, open questions, and each agent’s progress in real time.
The practical benefit: you can zoom in on a stuck agent, make a call on how to unblock it, and return to the high-level dashboard without manually shuttling context between tools. Right now, most agents only know about each other through shared code repositories like GitHub or tickets in Jira. Band is designed to sit above that layer.
Why This Problem Is Getting Bigger
According to JetBrains’ Developer Ecosystem Survey 2026, 90% of professional developers now use at least one AI coding agent at work weekly, and 68% use one daily. Multi-agent adoption is harder to measure, but Databricks’ 2026 State of AI Agents report logged 327% growth in multi-agent workflows between September 2025 and early 2026.
The bottleneck is no longer getting agents to write code. It’s coordination. As CEO and co-founder Arick Goomanovsky put it:
“Developers are going from working with one coding agent to leading teams of them, but the tools around those agents haven’t evolved to support that.”
The Setup
Band complements a command-line interface and plugs into the development environments engineers already use. The desktop app is a new addition to the platform, not a replacement for existing workflow tooling.
Engineering Manager Amit Gazal framed the core argument plainly: running more agents only helps if developers can actually manage the work those agents create. Band is the bet that a dedicated management layer is how you get there.
