I first heard this question on the Tim Ferris Show years ago, and it is still one of my favorite questions.

I have occasionally asked this question to my podcast guests, social media followers, and friends.

Now it’s my turn; here are my favorite purchases under $100.

1. Roost Laptop Stand

A laptop mounted on a black adjustable stand with an external keyboard placed in front of it.
Look at that beauty

I bought the first version of this stand years ago, and I’m still using it.

Roost Stand’s latest version (v3) is available for $89.95.

Here’s a photo of how it still helps me work productively. ??‍?

A dual-monitor workstation setup, featuring a laptop on a stand and a separate monitor, with an external keyboard and mouse.
My current workspace is set up with my Roost Stand and Logitech MX Master 3 for Mac.

2. Logitech MX Master 3

Black wireless computer mouse with side buttons and a scroll wheel.

My wife bought this mouse for me as a birthday gift, and I loved it!

I was looking for a wireless mouse that is fully Mac-compatible and has a middle button click function (sorry, Magic Mouse), and she bought me an MX Master 3. I should be a great husband. ?

The new version of this beauty is named MX Master 3S for Mac and is available for $99.99.

3. TidyCal

I found TidyCal when I was looking for an affordable alternative to Calendly. It’s a simple yet functional tool.

It doesn’t have a sleek design like Calendly, but the lifetime deal on AppSumo for just $29 makes it totally acceptable.

4. Switchy

A person interacts with a social media management platform called "switchy," surrounded by social media icons.

Switchy is a URL shortener on steroids with many advanced features.

I have tried several URL shorteners until now, namely Bitly, Foxly, and Pxlto, but none provided what I needed with an affordable price ticket.

I bought Switchy for lifetime access only for $39, and I’m using it all.the.time.

5. Hushed Lifetime US Phone Number

A website screenshot for "hushed," an app providing temporary and second phone numbers for wi-fi calling, texting, and voicemail.

If you’re a non-US resident like me, a cheap US phone number could be a great time saver for using all kinds of US-based digital products.

I’ve found this lifetime US phone number deal named Hushed for only $25! I bought it the moment I saw it. After a while, I bought a second number for my WhatsApp Business account. 🙂

Highlights:

  • Get a second phone number…to keep for life!
  • Choose a mobile number from the US, Canada, or the UK (toll-free numbers not included)
  • 6,000 SMS or 1,000 minutes worth of credits per year
  • After 12 months, your credits are renewed automatically
  • This plan does not support international calling or texting

6. Marky – AI Social Media Post Automation Tool

Marky Home Page

I discovered the Marky lifetime deal when I was looking for an affordable, customizable AI social media automation tool. I bought it and directly connected my social media accounts.

Marky is still on a lifetime deal for $59 on AppSumo.

7. ChatGPT and all the OpenAI Goodness

Yes, you heard it right. I’m one of the millions of ChatGPT fans, and it really helps me be more productive and help grow my business and other businesses I help.

So far, I have used ChatGPT for these purposes:

  1. Getting blog post outlines, briefs, and drafts of multiple blog posts using ChatGPT API
  2. Getting social media post copy
  3. Improving landing page copy
  4. Solving coding problems
  5. Translation from English to any language, and vice versa

And many more to come.

The first time I started to use ChatGPT for coding help.

The use cases for ChatGPT and other OpenAI products are countless, and you can even use them for free or at a very affordable price!

8. Numi calculator for Mac

Numi is a beautiful calculator for Mac that blends math with text. It has very handy features such as currency conversions, units, time zones, numeral systems, variables, export, and notification widgets.

It’s like taking notes with calculations and different kinds of unit conversions available!

A minimalistic user interface of a software named 'numi', displaying a dark mode theme with three colored dots at the top left corner, suggesting window control buttons commonly seen on macos.
Here’s how Numi works

You can download Numi for free for a single note page.

If you also want to store each of your notes, you can use Numi for free by subscribing to the Setapp Mac Apps Suite.

Another option is to buy a Numi license for $19.99 and have it for a lifetime.

Either way, the paid version of Numi provides you access to unlimited notes and iCloud sync.

9. Neuron Writer

I bought Neuron Writer on their AppSumo lifetime deal over a year ago, and I still use it actively. It’s very similar to Surfer; it helps you check the terms used in the top search articles, outlines, headings, and more.

The lifetime deal tiers start at $87, which is pretty useful if you don’t have a high volume of content output. You can also purchase Neuron Writer’s lifetime deal on their website.

One thing to be cautious of, though: don’t overoptimize for the Content Score that Neuron Writer calculates for your article. It might drive you or your writers to keyword stuffing.
