Blueprint raises $1.4M CAD to build the Lovable for hardware
Vibe coding came for software. Now a Toronto startup is betting it can do the same for physical hardware.
Blueprint announced it has closed $1 million USD ($1.4 million CAD) in pre-seed funding from a16z speedrun, Founders Inc, and undisclosed angels. The company has also pulled in more than 175,000 users since launching three months ago.
What It Does
Blueprint lets anyone describe a gadget they want to build in plain language. The platform’s AI generates a full project plan covering wiring, mechanics, suggested off-the-shelf parts with sourcing links, and step-by-step assembly instructions. No hardware engineering background required.
Co-founder and CEO David Feldt, along with COO Sajeel Purewal and CTO Pranav Seelam, have been building toward this since April, with the stated goal of letting anyone take any hardware idea and bring it to reality regardless of technical skill level.
The Funding and Backers
The pre-seed round comes through a16z speedrun, the Silicon Valley accelerator Blueprint recently joined. Founders Inc and a group of undisclosed angels also participated. The Lovable and Replit comparisons the team is leaning into are deliberate: the pitch is that hardware prototyping should be as accessible as spinning up a web app.
For operators building physical products or exploring hardware as a business line, Blueprint is worth watching. The 175,000 user figure in three months suggests the demand for low-barrier hardware tooling is real.
