Domains.co.za ships self-hosted n8n VPS for SA businesses

South African hosting provider Domains.co.za has launched a self-hosted n8n VPS product: a virtual private server with the open source workflow automation platform pre-installed, running on local infrastructure.

Who It’s For

The product targets developers, IT teams, digital agencies, and businesses that want automation without per-execution billing. Most SaaS automation platforms charge by the number of tasks or workflow runs. This offering switches to a flat monthly model with unlimited workflow execution.

What’s Included

  • Dedicated VPS compute hosted at Teraco, described as Africa’s largest N+1 data centre
  • NVMe storage and 99.9% uptime SLA
  • One-click deployment and free backups
  • Queue mode for high-volume workflow reliability
  • Local technical support
  • API integrations and developer-friendly configuration

Four plans are available, each with dedicated compute resources. Specific pricing was not disclosed in the announcement.

The Data Residency Angle

Hosting in South Africa reduces latency for local users and supports POPIA-compliant data management, which matters for organisations with data residency requirements. That’s a real differentiator over cloud-based automation platforms that route data through overseas infrastructure.

Founder and CEO Wayne Diamond describes it as giving businesses “unlimited workflow execution, predictable monthly costs, and greater control over data” without the scaling penalties common in SaaS automation tools.
