Entire launches India Git region with 570k clones/hour capacity
Entire, the AI developer platform founded by former GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke in September 2025, has opened an India region on its Distributed Git Network. Developers and enterprises can now host or mirror Git repositories within India for data residency compliance and lower-latency access.
What the India region actually does
The core pitch is local resilience. Dohmke told AIM:
“If you mirror a repository, you always have a copy available. If the connection between Indian data centres and the United States goes down, you still have access.”
On throughput, Entire claims its network can handle nearly 570,000 Git clones per hour from a single repository and around 2.1 million Git pushes per hour. The company also says cloning through its network is more than three times faster than GitHub, though that figure comes from Entire itself.
The broader platform context
Entire combines distributed Git infrastructure with a session store that captures AI coding sessions: prompts, conversations, and model outputs. The idea is to give developers a record of why code was written, not just what changed. Dohmke describes the shift as developers becoming “the conductor of an orchestra of many of those agents running on computers and in the cloud.”
The startup emerged from stealth earlier in 2026 after securing $60 million in seed funding. The company reports that more than 90 percent of its own software has been built using AI agents, with human engineers still reviewing and contributing. Dohmke’s words on this: “It’s not vibe-coded.”
India-specific moves
Alongside the region launch, Entire introduced a Founding Builders Programme targeting Indian startups, enterprises, and open-source developers. The company appointed Karthik Rameshkumar as field CTO for India and plans to hire more employees remotely across the country.
