Fireflies.ai adds email assistant that pulls meeting context
Fireflies.ai built its reputation on AI meeting notes. Now it’s expanding into the inbox with a new Email Assistant that pulls context from both email threads and past meetings to draft replies and follow-ups.
The Differentiator
Most AI email tools only see the current thread. Fireflies can also reference previous meetings with the same contacts. If a client follows up on something discussed in a call last week, the assistant can use that meeting history when drafting a response, without you digging through notes manually.
What the Assistant Does
- Auto Labels: Sorts and labels incoming emails by priority. Does not modify, delete, or override existing email rules.
- Auto Draft Replies: Generates draft responses using the email thread plus relevant past meetings. Custom writing instructions let you set tone and style. Nothing sends without your approval.
- Follow-Ups: Drafts a follow-up in the original thread after a user-configured waiting period if no reply comes in.
- Daily Briefs: Combines email action items with meeting and Slack activity into a single daily overview.
- AskFred: Plain English queries to find emails, summarize conversations, or surface action items. Results can drop a draft directly into your inbox.
Availability and Pricing
The Email Assistant is available now on all Fireflies plans, including the free tier. Connect a Gmail or Outlook account through the Email Connector inside Fireflies to get started. The Pro plan starts at ₹955 per seat per month billed annually for users who need additional features.
Fireflies says the platform now spans meetings, email, Slack, and CRM, positioning it as a single layer for post-meeting follow-through rather than a standalone notes tool.
