Flux adds ROI visibility to its AI coding analytics platform

Most engineering teams can show AI adoption. Very few can show what that adoption produced. Flux Cyber just shipped five new capabilities aimed at closing that gap for engineering leaders.

The Problem It’s Solving

According to Flux, the metrics most teams report upward are tickets, story points, sprint velocity, and token counts. Those numbers describe activity. They don’t describe outcomes. Google Cloud’s 2025 DORA report backs this up: 90% of software professionals are using AI at work, but the authors noted that AI “doesn’t fix a team; it amplifies what’s already there.”

Flux CEO Ted Julian put it plainly: “Tickets and adoption rates describe intent. The code itself shows what the team actually built and delivered.”

The Five Capabilities

All five run on Flux’s existing code analysis, so no new instrumentation is required. Each addresses a specific blind spot:

  • Verified velocity: Sorts merged changes by type (features, bug fixes) and measures deployment frequency and lead time against the team’s own history. Activity only counts as progress when the code confirms it.
  • Trusted review: Tracks time-to-first-reviewer, load distribution, and review depth relative to change size and risk. Designed to catch review backlogs before they pile onto senior engineers.
  • Auditable work: Pulls activity directly from commits and pull request history. Significant contributions surface under a name even when no ticket was touched.
  • Continuous quality: Monitors new and resolved security findings, added dependencies, and failure and recovery trends against each team’s norms.
  • Defensible spend: Sorts work into capitalizable versus operational categories for R&D tax credits and leadership spending decisions. Token usage is not part of the measure.

All five capabilities are generally available now.

Funding and Background

Flux raised a $5 million round in June led by Calibrate Ventures, with True Ventures and Glasswing Ventures also participating.

For engineering leaders who are already past the “are people using AI” question and stuck on “what did we get for it,” this is the category to watch.
