Genesys has acquired Pinkfish, a workflow automation company that connects AI systems to actions across business applications. Terms were not disclosed.
What Pinkfish Brings
Pinkfish adds more than 500 integrations and support for 25,000 MCP tools to the Genesys Cloud platform. The technology is designed to let AI agents securely access and act on data across CRM, ERP, billing, and HR systems, not just retrieve information from them.
That distinction matters. The goal is AI that completes a customer request end to end: checking an order, applying a service credit, upgrading delivery, and sending a notification, all within a single interaction, without handing off between teams.
Target Use Cases
Genesys called out several process-heavy workflows the combined platform should handle:
- Customer onboarding
- Insurance claims
- Return merchandise authorisations
- Loan servicing
- Warranty management
The primary products getting the upgrade are Genesys’ virtual agent and copilot tools.
What the Executives Said
“Agentic AI is moving customer experience from assisted engagement to governed execution. With Pinkfish, we’re advancing agentic orchestration by connecting customer intent to enterprise data, business workflows and governed actions through Genesys Cloud AI, so organisations can resolve more complex customer needs with greater autonomy, control and speed.”
That is Genesys CTO Glenn Nethercutt. Pinkfish CEO and Co-Founder Charanya Kannan framed the deal around secure cross-enterprise action: the company was founded specifically to address AI that can operate across multiple business platforms rather than act as a standalone assistant.
Timeline and Availability
Genesys expects Pinkfish functions to reach customers through its AppFoundry marketplace by the end of Q2 of its 2027 fiscal year. Native integration within Genesys Cloud is planned by the end of that same fiscal year. Genesys serves more than 8,000 organisations worldwide.
For operators building or evaluating customer service automation, this signals where enterprise AI is heading: less chatbot, more process executor with governance rails built in.
