Logitech just shipped a dedicated macro pad aimed squarely at developers who live inside AI coding tools. The MX Keypad costs $99 and is built to reduce the constant context switching between your editor, your AI assistant, and everything else running on your screen.
What You Get
The keypad ships with nine full-color LCD keys. Each key is fully customizable: you can bind them to launch commands, trigger macros, or open AI tools directly. Logitech developed the device alongside GitHub, and the default integrations cover the tools most developers already use: GitHub Copilot, Claude, OpenAI Codex, and VS Code.
The MX Keypad comes in two color schemes. Logitech describes it as a control center rather than a simple peripheral, with the explicit goal of cutting down how often developers have to switch between apps.
Who It’s For
The primary pitch is programmers and coders, but Logitech notes the customization options work for non-coding apps too. If you spend your day bouncing between a text editor, a browser, a terminal, and an AI assistant, a dedicated hardware shortcut layer has a real case to make.

The Catch
At $99, this sits in the premium accessory bracket. The nine-key limit also means you will need to think carefully about which shortcuts earn a spot on the pad.
For solopreneurs and indie developers running tight, AI-heavy workflows, the MX Keypad is worth a look. For everyone else, the free keyboard shortcut layer in your OS might cover the same ground.
