Meta shipped a new AI coding agent called Muse Code, now available in beta for macOS and Linux. It runs in the terminal and is built on Muse Spark 1.2, the latest coding-focused update to Meta’s Muse Spark model family.
What It Does
Muse Code is designed to handle complex software engineering tasks across large repositories. The terminal-based interface puts it in the same category as tools like Claude Code and Codex CLI, aimed at developers who prefer working outside a GUI.
What to Watch
Meta positioned this as a tool for tackling complex, large-codebase work rather than quick one-off completions. Beta status means rough edges are likely. If you’re already running Claude Code or another terminal agent, it’s worth a side-by-side test once the beta opens more widely.
