Exclaimer makes email signature management software for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Exchange. The company manages signatures for more than 10 million email accounts worldwide, including at Sony, HP, Cisco, and the BBC.

Their free trial was already doing heavy lifting on the website. It offered all features for 14 days without requiring a credit card. The product case was solid. The closing mechanism was there. But the button copy was leaving conversions on the table.

What Changed

The research started with existing customers. When asked what actually tipped their decision to sign up, one thing kept coming up. That customer language fed directly into a rewrite of the trial CTA button copy.

The result: a 39% increase in sign-ups from a single button change.

The Operator Takeaway

Your best conversion copy is probably already sitting in your support inbox, your customer interviews, or your onboarding surveys. When customers tell you in their own words what pushed them to commit, that is the copy for your CTA. Not what you think sounds good. What they actually said.

Exclaimer’s trial page gave prospects all the features, the full 14 days, and no credit card friction. The value was there. The button just needed to speak the language that closed the deal.
