Scorpion has acquired 1SEO Digital Agency, a Philadelphia-based firm founded in 2009 that serves local businesses in home services, health, and legal. The deal folds 1SEO’s 17 years of client relationships into Scorpion’s platform, with existing 1SEO clients already transitioning to Scorpion’s toolset.
What 1SEO clients get
1SEO clients gain access to Scorpion’s RevenueMAX solution, which Scorpion describes as purpose-built to drive revenue growth and ROI for local businesses. They also inherit two exclusive platform partnerships that no other digital marketing provider currently holds in both verticals:
- Home services: Scorpion is ServiceTitan’s only preferred digital marketing partner, with integrations that connect marketing spend to technician capacity and booked jobs.
- Legal: Scorpion holds the same sole-preferred designation with Clio, the first time Clio has granted it, linking law firm marketing directly to retained clients and revenue.
Who’s staying
1SEO CEO BJ Bergey will remain with Scorpion post-acquisition, focusing on client success and growth. Skyharbor Capital, which acquired 1SEO in 2023 and backed its platform transformation, exits through the deal. 1SEO was advised by Woodland Park Capital Advisors, with support from Two Roads Advisors.
The operator takeaway
For small agencies or freelancers selling digital marketing to home service contractors, law firms, or health businesses, consolidation at this level narrows the independent agency playing field. Scorpion is explicitly using M&A to expand its local business footprint nationwide. The exclusive partnerships with both ServiceTitan and Clio are worth watching: they create locked distribution channels that independent shops can’t replicate.
