UTI Asset Management Company ran Google Performance Max campaigns and reported a 234% increase in digital revenue, a 33% increase in transactions, and a 31% reduction in cost per transaction in FY 2025-26. Those are the headline numbers from an interview with Peshotan Dastoor, Group President and Head of Sales and Products at UTI AMC.

The AI stack behind the numbers

The results came from running AI, data, and owned digital channels as a single connected funnel rather than separate programs. Dastoor described it as performance improving when those layers operate together rather than in isolation.

On the customer service side, UTI AMC deployed an agentic AI contact centre called VAANI. In FY26, VAANI automated 59% of inbound calls and cut average handle time from seven minutes to 3.5 minutes.

For personalisation, the company unified more than 20 million investor profiles through Salesforce Data Cloud. Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Einstein AI layer on top to deliver what Dastoor called segment-of-one engagement, using real-time behavioral signals like product affinity, channel preferences, and browsing behavior rather than broad demographic buckets.

The data infrastructure underneath

UTI AMC also built an enterprise data platform called UDAAN and reports 95% adoption of its enterprise-wide data strategy across sales, KPIs, insights, and analytics. The CFO separately confirmed an additional Rs 8 crore expense line item in FY26 tied specifically to cloud infrastructure upgrades. The company also built what it describes as a complete data lake, enabling investor tracking down to the PAN level for first-time SIP investors.

The operator takeaway

The 234% revenue figure is eye-catching, but the more transferable lesson is structural: UTI AMC did not bolt AI onto existing campaigns. It rebuilt the data layer first, unified customer profiles, then ran AI-led acquisition on top of that foundation. The sequence matters. Better data in, better targeting out, lower cost per transaction as a result.

For solo operators and small teams running paid acquisition, the principle scales down: connecting your CRM data to your ad platform’s AI bidding tends to outperform running them as separate systems.
