Every Monday morning used to start the same way: nine browser tabs, four ad accounts, one newsletter platform, two webmaster tools, and a social scheduler. The author would export data from Google Analytics, Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and ad accounts across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Then came the copy, paste, and reconcile phase. Actual thinking started around 11am.
That routine is gone. The replacement is Claude Code, an AI agent that runs in a terminal and connects to other software through APIs. For most of the past year, it has handled the weekly marketing review without a single dashboard opened.
The Core Shift
The mental model change matters more than the tooling. The author now picks software based on whether it has a usable API, not based on how good its dashboard looks. Working knowledge gets stored in plain text files rather than locked inside SaaS interfaces.
That means any AI agent can read the context, act on the data, and return a result in natural language. No UI required.

How Claude Code Connects to Marketing Tools
Claude Code uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect to external services. MCP is how the agent reads data from Google Analytics, pulls impressions from Search Console, queries Bing Ads, and touches the newsletter platform and social scheduler, all from the same terminal session.
Instead of switching tabs to compare a Search Console drop against a Google Analytics session dip, you ask a question and the agent pulls the relevant numbers across sources simultaneously.
What the Monday Workflow Looks Like Now
Rather than opening each platform and manually exporting reports, the author types a prompt. Claude Code connects to the relevant APIs, retrieves the data, and returns a synthesized view. The reconciliation that used to eat the first two hours of the week happens inside the agent’s reasoning loop instead.
Specific platforms that are now API-accessed rather than dashboard-accessed include:
- Google Analytics
- Search Console
- Bing Webmaster Tools
- The newsletter platform
- The social scheduler
- Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and TikTok Ads

The Rule Worth Stealing
Choose software for its API, not its dashboard. If a tool does not expose a usable API, it cannot participate in an agent-based workflow. That single criterion starts filtering your stack in a useful direction.
Store your working knowledge in plain text files. Docs, briefs, historical context, benchmarks: keep them in a format any tool can read. When your AI agent has that context available, it stops being a chat toy and starts being an operator.
What This Requires
Claude Code runs in a terminal. It is not a plug-and-play marketing app. You need to be comfortable with a command line, able to configure MCP connections to your existing tools, and willing to maintain plain text context files that give the agent the background it needs.
The upside is that once those connections are in place, the weekly reporting loop runs without the tab shuffle. For anyone managing multiple ad platforms and analytics sources simultaneously, that is a real change to how the first two hours of a Monday work.
